Anfrage: Hallo! 8 mm gemessen (Belgium 7830 Silly - 04.05.2014). Cardiophorus ebeninus, Dicronychus equisetioides ? Danke und Viele Grüße. Pierre.
Art, Familie:
Dicronychus sp.
Elateridae
Antwort: Hallo Pierre, beide Gattungen kommen in Betracht.

Land, MTB, Datum (Fund):

2015-01-28
Anfrage: Huhu!
Thomas

Art, Familie:
Donus sp.
Curculionidae
Antwort: Hi Carlos, this is a female of the genus Donus, from the weevil tribe Hypericini. There are many species in Portugal and a determination would be possible only by examination of the specimen itself under a binocular microscope. But it has a nice and dark coloration for a Donus species. Best regards Thomas

2014/ABR/15
On Ericaceae Erica sp.; very small, about 3mm
Art, Familie:
Micrelus sp.
Curculionidae
Antwort: Hi Carlos, this should be a representative of genus Micrelus. Two species are present in Portugal: M. ericae, which lives on Erica and which fits your pictures. And M. ferrugatus. I've never seen a specimen of this species. Literature says it is polyphagous, which I can't neither conform nor refute. I better put Micrelus sp. here. Best regards, Christoph

Art, Familie:

Anfrage: This Staphylinidae was found in the southern part of Sjælland in Denmark 11th of september last year (2014). Is it possible to narrow down to species or at least genus? Maybe Omalium? Habitat was deciduous forest floor.
Art, Familie:
Omaliinae sp.
Staphylinidae
Antwort: Hi Brianwillum, since all our admins have seen this request including our Staphylinidae expert Thomas and did not comment, I have to leave it unresolved. Should be subfamily Omaliinae, but we cant determine the beetle any further. Sorry & best regards, Christoph

Art, Familie:
Ceutorhynchus sp.
Curculionidae
Antwort: Hi Carlos, this is a member of genus Ceutorhynchus. There is a number of blueish species occuring in Centraleurope which are not easy to identify and I'm afraid there will be a few more in Portugal. So no way to identify down to species Level. Best regards, Klaas
