The lined flat bark beetles (Laemo­phloeidae) are small to very small, often flattened species. They live predacious under bark and dry branches, some species are synanthropic and can be secondary pests in grain stocks. Worldwide some 440 species in 40 genera have been described, thereof 21 species from Germany. They are found throughout the world but most abundantly in tropical areas.
