On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 19.05.2016; Wiener Donauinsel;

Best regards
Bo/Denmark

Carabidae
Comment: Hi Bo, this is likely Pterostichus melanarius. P. anthracinus is rather strongly associated with riparian habitats such as lake shores or gravel banks along rivers and brooks. Best regards, Fabian

Request: I know this is Dorytomus sp., but would like to narrow it down further if you can determine what species this is. 5 mm long. 28.2.2019
Regards,
Mihajlo
Species, family:
Dorytomus cf. ictor
Curculionidae
Comment: Hi Mihajlo, I think Dorytomus is right and in Germany I would determine the beetle probably to Dorytomus ictor (based on the size), but Serbia might have other species (e.g. the similar but smaller Dorytomus minutus is more widespread there, both known from Serbia) and I set a cf. Best regards, Holger

ca. 1 - 1,5 cm lang
am 28.02.2019
Species, family:
Molorchus minor

LG, Christoph
