On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Am 13.05.2019 wollten wir unseren Bohnen- und Tomatenanpflanzungen im Garten mit Pferdemist etwas Gutes tun.
Beim Verteilen des Mists kamen dann diese beiden Kraftprotze zum Vorschein - ein Nashornkäferpärchen (Oryctes nasicornis). Zum Fototermin habe ich sie kurz auf eine optisch ansprechendere Basis "umgesiedelt".
Beide waren 30-35mm gross, Männchen sehr mobil(zwickte richtig, wenn er sich in die Haut krallte), Weibchen eher träge.
Helligkeit mögen sie garnicht und sind sofort nach dem Fototermin wieder in ihre etwas anrüchige Behausung abgetaucht.
