On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Laarne Belgium - 2-6-2014
Elateridae unknown...
Can this name be refined?
Luc
Species, family:
Hemicrepidius hirtus/niger
Elateridae
Comment: Hi Lucgast, this is genus Hemicrepidius, but a determination down to species level is impossible for the two species in question, H. niger und H. hirtus from dorsal perspective only. They can be distinguished by the shape of the prosternal apophysis. LG, Christoph

Request: Hallo Zusammen,
Agrilus ja, aber dann ? Auch dieses Exemplar war ca. 7mm, Fund: Polen, Schlesien, Wyry, 1.6.2014.
LG, Marek
Species, family:
Agrilus cf. pratensis
Buprestidae

Tolle Aufnahmen! LG, Christoph

Request: Hallo Kerbtier-Team,
hier vermute ich Phyllobius pomaceus. 02.06.2014, an Brennessel. LG, Daniel
Species, family:
Phyllobius pomaceus
Curculionidae
LG, Christoph

Request: This is insect don't seems me Trichodes octopunctatus because I think that it had six points. What do you think?
(Serra da Arrábida, Portugal - 28.05.2014)
Species, family:
Lachnaia sp.
Chrysomelidae
Comment: Oi MiguelBk, this should be a representative of genus Lachnaia, but there are no less than 6 species of the genus present in Portugal (L. cylindrica, hirta, paradoxa, pubescens, puncticollis and tristigma) and all of them are pretty similar. Little chance to get this determined by photo. At least, I can't do it. Regards, Christoph

Species, family:

Comment: Hi Inja, this might be a representative of genus Amphichroum, but that's very uncertain and unless Thomas finds your inquiry and comments, this should be merely regarded as an educated guess. Regards, Christoph
