On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo, beim Keschern nach Urzeitkrebsen habe ich auch verschiedene Käfer gefangen. Liege ich hier mit Dytiscus marginalis richtig?
Funddaten: 31.3.2011, Graben in weitestgehend entwässertem Hartholzauwald. Vielen Dank, WernerK ▶ Beide Aufnahmen vom Imago sind vom selben Tier.

Comment: Hallo WernerK, bestätigt als Dytiscus marginalis. Die Hinterhüftfortsätze sehen auf Foto A zwar eher gerundet aus wie es für D. dimidiatus typisch ist, die Halsschildoberseite lässt jedoch in Kombination Dytiscus marginalis erkennen. Danke für die Meldung. Viele Grüße, Daniel

Der hat den arttypsch gekrümmten Fühlerschaft und das zweite Fühlergeißelglied ist mehr als 1,5x so lange wie das erste. Beide Merkmale sind am Exemplar schön deutlich ausgeprägt. LG Corinna
