View answered requests for beetle ID

On this page you can find photos submitted by users. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case at least a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given. Requests to the kerbtier.de ID team can be submitted on the request page. The answered requests are published here shortly (currently 3 hours on average) after submitting.

Hallo zusammen!

Hi Gert and Christoph, this is Zyras limbatus, today the right name is Pella limbata. It lives myrmecophile in different living spaces. Best regards, Thomas

Hallo Bestimmungsteam. LG, Christoph

Hi Karol, this is a Hemicrepidius species, either H. niger or H. hirtus. They can be distinguished by the shape of the prosternal appendix, which would require an high-res photo of the lower side from lateral view. Best regards, Christoph
