On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Hallo Paul, da hast Du einen Catops gefunden, den man auch am Käfer nicht immer so einfach bestimmen kann. Es ist ein Männchen (sieht man an den verbeiterten Vorderfüßen), was gut ist, aber nur was bringt wenn man die oft charakteristischen Vorderschienen sauber fotografiert. Die Antennen sind auch wichtig, die gehen hier ganz gut, Halsschildhinterecken sind wichtig, sieht man auch ganz gut. Weiterhin wichtig, exakt gemessene Größe, die hier fehlt, und noch eine Kleinigkeit, die extrem hilfreich ist: das sauber präparierte männliche Genital .... Es geht hier also zumindest für mich nicht bis zur Art. Viele Grüße, Michael

Request: Ulliota cf. planata? Fast hätte ich diese kleine Ansammlung der Winzlinge (ca. 4 mm klein) unter der Rinde einer gefällten Eiche übersehen. Auf Bild A und B sind ausserdem kleine violette "Spenkel" zu sehen. Davon waren sehr viel vorhanden, die schnellsten verschwanden. Man kann wohl nicht erkennen, ob es die Larven dieser Art sind?? Schweiz, Aaargau, Eiken (MTB 8413)auf ca. 330 m üNN am 28.02.2015. Danke vielmals für eure Geduld! LG von Chris

Comment: Hallo chris! Ich würde bei Uleiota planata zustimmen. Käfer und Larven leben räuberisch unter der Rinde von Laub- und gelegentlich Nadelbäumen. Die "Spenkel" dürften Collembolen (Springschwänze) sein, die unter anderem im Totholz vorkommen und sich von verottendem organischen Material ernähren.

Comment: Hallo Pierre, das ist ein Notiophilus substriatus. Flügeldeckenspitze mit hellem Fleck. 3. und 4. Fld.-Intervall verbreitert, 5. und 6. schmal, 7. wieder verbreitert. Vom Norden der Iberischen Halbinsel über Westeuropa bis zur Krim und Vorderasien. In Mitteleuropa klafft eine breite Verbreitungslücke vom Unterlauf der Elbe an bis zu den Vorkommen in der Schweiz, Österreich
und Ungarn. An Ufern stehender und langsam fließender Gewässer. LG, Christoph

Comment: Hallo Paul, entweder Leiopus nebulosus oder Leiopus linnei. Letztere Art wurde erst kürzlich von L. nebulosus abgetrennt und ist nach äußeren Merkmalen nicht unterscheidbar. Larve unter der Rinde verschiedener Laubbäume, wie Eiche, Buche, Obstbäume u.a. Überwinterung als Imago im Brutholz. LG, Christoph
