Request: 26.05.2008, ein früher Fund des Großen Orientglückskäfers in Istanbul. Allerdings bereits auf der europäischen Seite des Bosporus. Die Art gilt zwar nicht als besonders invasiv, da sie wegen ihres Gewichtes und ihrer Größe die Flugfähigkeit eingebüßt hat. Der Käfer ist also auf seine sechs Insektenbeine angewiesen. Da aber auch Hannibal mit seinen Elefanten über die Alpen gekommen sein, muss man davon ausgehen, dass auch diese Art irgendwann einmal nördlich der Alpen auftreten wird. Problematisch bei diesem Käfer ist seine Ernährungsweise. Nach bisherigen Erkenntnissen frisst er nur Glück und auch nur, wenn es noch frisch ist. Bei Sichtung eines Vertreters dieser Art ist also Vorsicht angesagt. Allen ein gutes neues Jahr.

Request: Eine schwer ramponierte, nur noch halb lebende Uloma sp. aus Kieferntotholz, 14.9.20. Ich denke, es ist Uloma rufa, auch wenn man außen an der Halsschildbasis einen Hauch von Wülstchen sieht. Bei culinaris müsste da viel mehr sein, denke ich. Und der Käfer maß auch nur 9 mm.
