On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

diesenKäfer habe ich heute Nachmittag im NSG Rothenberg bei Nackenheim gesehen. Handelt es sich um Trox perlatus?

Comment: Hallo Ursula, yup, das ist Trox perlatus. Die stenotope, thermophile Art lebt an trockenem Aas, Knochen, Gewölle und Fellen. Sie ist unter den heimischen Trox-Arten leicht durch die glänzenden Höcker auf den Flügeldecken zu erkennen. Trox perlatus kommt nur im Westen Deutschlands vor und ist nicht häufig. In der Roten Liste ist die Art als stark gefährdet (RL 2) eingestuft. LG, Christoph

Comment: Hallo Kaugummi, yup, der rote Hinterleib (Foto C! :-D) kennzeichnet ihn als Stenurella nigra. Der oberflächlich ähnliche Leptura aethiops ist komplett schwarz. In ganz Deutschland zu Hause und in den Monaten Juni/Juli auf Blüten zu finden. Die Larven entwickeln sich in Laubhölzern. LG, Christoph

Request: Hab gedacht ich hätte das gestern schon eingereicht, aber da muss was schief gelaufen sein. Fund 16.05.2015 Rüsselkäfer 3 - max. 4 mm gefunden auf Kirschlorbeer, glaube aber nicht, dass er dahin gehört.
