On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo zusammen,
den ersten Rosenkäfer habe ich hier am 13.05. auf einer Ebereschenblüte abgelichtet. Da ich an dieser Stelle jedes Jahr immer wieder nur Cetonia aurata fand, hatte ich mir keine Mühe gemacht, die Unterseite anzuschauen.
Vorgestern (20.05.21) jedoch fand ich an einer Hecke in Bachnähe einen Käfer, der mir gleich etwas anders vorkam. Er war auch relativ klein (<20 mm). Den habe ich dann doch mal nicht nur von oben, sondern auch von unten fotografiert. Und siehe da: der Mesosternalfortsatz ist nicht kugelig, sondern abgeplattet. Also Protaetia cuprea?

Comment: Hallo Jürgen, das ist jetzt ein bisschen Pech: Der sattelförmige Mesosternalfortsatz identifiziert ihn eindeutig als Vertreter der Gattung Protaetia. Aber man sieht kein einziges Knie. Das bräuchte ich aber, um zur Art zu kommen. LG, Christoph
