View answered requests for beetle ID
|
On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Huhu!

LG, Christoph

Request: Zum Schluss nochmal was Leichtes ;).

Species, family:
Bembidion sp.
Carabidae
Comment: Hallo Martin, zwei Arten kommen in Frage: B. lampros und B. properans. Unterscheidung über die 7. Punktreihe, Breite des Halsschildseitenrands und Ausprägung der Stirnfurchen. An Deinem Foto wage ich keine Trennung. Beide Arten paläarktisch verbreitet, nach Nordamerika eingeschleppt. Eurytop. Oft beide Arten gemeinsam im selben Habitat. Vielleicht wagt Klaas ja mehr als ich? LG, Christoph

Request: Found today (06.05.2013) in Bielsko-Biala (Poland). Small deciduous forest on small river.
Species, family:
Crepidodera cf. nitidula
Chrysomelidae
Comment: Hi Inja, this is difficult to judge from the photos. Two-colored, like the very common C. aurata, bit the elytra and head are relatively darf, and the punctation of the pronotum seems rather fine. That would favor C. nitidula. But some uncertainty remains. Regards, Christoph

Request: juni 2010, graubünden, 1000 müm, Rüsselkäfer ? Liparus glabirostris?
Species, family:
Liparus glabrirostris
Curculionidae
LG, Christoph

Species, family:
Apion frumentarium

Comment: Hi Inja, given the bright red color, body length and (as far as I can see) the narrow shape of the head, this is Apion frumentarium. Like all the red Apion sp. on sorrels (Rumex). Regards, Christoph

Comment: Hi Inja, finally that's an easy one to relax... It's Propylea quatuordecimpunctata. Palearctic species, Europe, North Africa, Asia Minor, Caucasus, Siberia. Very common predator of various aphid species, ubiquitous in the herbal layer of different habitat types. Regards, Christoph

Request: Found today (06.05.2013) in Bielsko-Biala (Poland). Small deciduous forest on small river. Is that L. tessulatus ?
Species, family:
cf. Liophloeus tessulatus
Curculionidae
Comment: Hi Inja, most probably it is Liophloeus tessulatus, however, determination ONLY from a lower side photo brings us to the next level of complexity. Nothing I really aim for as a standard practice ;-). Regards, Christoph
