Request: 11.12.2015; sehr zahlreich unter Laub und Steinen an einem steinigen Waldbächlein; saßen teilweise schon fast im Wasser. 590m üNn. Ca.10-11mm. Fundmeldung von Platynus scrobiculatus (DE RL1 / BY RL2). Bin mir, trotz der mäßigen Fotos, sicher, dass es sich um obig genannten handelt, da P. livens vom Habitus anders ausschaut und auch laut Roter Liste BY im Bereich Alpen/Alpenvorland nicht vorkommt. Andere Platynus-Arten gibt's ja bei uns wohl nicht. :-)

Es waren mehrere derartige kleine Käfer in Windelhosen, welche offen in einem im Hausflur abgestellten Karton aus Wellpappe gelagert waren.

Comment: Hallo Josef, das ist der Messingkäfer Niptus hololeucus. Ein typischer Bewohner alter Häuser, bei denen Zwischenböden mit Stroh verfüllt sind. Die nachtaktiven Käfer fressen organische Stoffe: Textilien, Federn, Pelze, Knochen, tote Insekten, etc. Die Schäden halten sich meist in Grenzen, weshalb die Tiere eher als Lästlinge einzustufen sind. Ursprünglich pontisch verbreitet, vom Menschen verschleppt, heute Kosmopolit. LG, Christoph

Request: 11.12.2015 an einem Waldbächlein, mehrere Exemplare unter Steinen. 590m üNn. Ca.7mm. Gut, dass der so ziemlich unverwechselbar ist, da die Fotos aufgrund von nachlassendem Tageslicht nicht besonders gut geworden sind: Fundmeldung Paranchus albipes für MTB 8238.
