View answered requests for beetle ID

On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Hi Inja, from this angle I'm not even really sure about Cantharis or Rhagonycha. In case of Cantharis C. rufa or C. cryptica are likely. In case of Rhagonycha R. translucida might be a probable candidate. So I think I leave it with Cantharidae sp. here. Regards, Christoph

In Europa. Zur Entwicklung siehe hier. Grüße, Christoph

Hallo!

Requests for species Xylodrepa quadrimaculata  Requests for family Silphidae
Comment:

Comment:
Hi Inja, in this case, I use rather the habitat information you provided to make a determination: L. capreae is eurytopic and lives on willow (Salix), poplar (Populus) and birch (betula). L. suturalis however is stenotopic and xerophilic. It can be found on heathland and is monophagous on common heather (Calluna vulgaris). If this plant is not present in the area, L. capraea is most likely. Regards, Christoph
