On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Found this one yesterday 09.04.2016 near an abandoned field in Nootdorp in the western part of the Netherlands. The weevil is 3.1 mm long and looks like a Datonychus to me, i think D. urticae. Do you think I am right?
Species, family:
Nedyus quadrimaculatus
Curculionidae
Comment: Hi Leon, urticae points in the right direction, it is Nedyus quadrimaculatus, monophagous on nettles (Urtica sp.). Best regards, Christoph

An Kiefern. LG, Christoph
