View answered requests for beetle ID
|
On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 14.06.2016
2-3mm
Sand dunes Jersey CI
Species, family:
Cryptocephalus cf. sexpustulatus
Chrysomelidae
Comment: Hi Simon, in this case I really tried very hard, but this Cryptocephalus leaves me clueless. I've contacted an external expert for the genus, gut so far I haven't received his reply. If we solve the problem, I'll post it here and let you know. Best regards, Christoph I just got the reply from P. Audisio, professor of Zoology at the Sapienzia Università di Roma: "The Cryptocephalus species from Jersey Island could be a chromatic blackish form of C. sexpustulatus, but this group is rather difficult, and a direct study of the specimens is probably necessary before to confirm a certain identification.". Best regards, Christoph

Funddatum: 18.06.2016, Fundort: Braunfels-Philippstein Waldlage/ MTB 5516/1 / 250m NN, Art: Pterostichus aethiops *** Beste Grüße mesch
Species, family:
Pterostichus madidus
Carabidae
