On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo Käferfreunde, 27.07.2016 in großer Zahl auf feuchter Waldlichtung, ca. 12 mm. Spontan hätte ich Hylobius abietis vermutet, aber da sehen die Wirtspflanzen wohl minimal anders aus. Zudem hat der keine so schicken Beine. Ausschließlich in der gleichen Wirtspflanze gefunden und eine genauere Beobachtung lässt vermuten, dass keine Pflanzensäfte sondern gezielt Nektar genascht wird. Viele Grüße!

Comment: Hallo Shamrock, Dein Verdacht ist korrekt, es ist der ungleich seltenere Hylobius transversovittatus. Mittel- und Südeuropa bis Kaukasus. Am Gewöhnlichen Blutweiderich (Lythrum salicaria). Larvenentwicklung in den verholzten Wurzelstöcken. Nicht häufig, RL 3. LG, Christoph - PS: Das nächste Mal will ich Käfer in dieser "Schwierigkeits-Magnitude" schon richtig vorbestimmt von Dir haben... :D
