View answered requests for beetle ID
|
On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo Käferteam,
hier ein Rüsselkäferfund vom 29. Mai 2015.

Request: Dear Christoph,
thank you very for your work, I see that you work on Saturdays and Sundays and at night.
Is this pauxillus (Your comment 61010)?
I am very glad that most of the bugs are identified, without photo ID have no sense.
28.05.2013, 4 mm
Species, family:
Caenorhinus sp.
Rhynchitidae
Comment: Hi pepik, yes, this is now a representative of genus Caenorhinus, recognizable from the additional puncture at the base of the elytra between the suture and the first interval. Now, to distinguish the 4 similar species, we need a lateral photo showing the 9th and 10th interval (see my illustration). The lower photo is almost there. Just flip him another 30°, and we get him :). Best regards, Christoph
