On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Größe ca. 8-9 mm, gefunden heute, 1.3.2017 in meinem Gartenteich in Gernsbach.
Vielen Dank und viele Grüße,
Manfred
Species, family:
Agabus sp.
Dytiscidae

Sorry & LG, Christoph

Request: Location: leaf litter in the Botanical Garden in Berlin
Date: 30.03.2016
I've been told it's likely to be a carabid or staphylinid larva - can anyone at least give be a better idea of which family it might belong to?
Species, family:
Nebriinae sp.
Carabidae
Comment: Hi Hannah, this is a larvae of the Family Staphylinidae. Best regards, Klaas P.S.: Please choose the British flag so we know you're speaking English and not German. Using the German flag can happen to get the answere in German. ;-) Hi Hannah and Klaas, this is the larva of a Ground Beetle, not a Rove Beetle. Subfamily Nebriinae. Best regards, Moritz

Request: Boswachterij Hardenberg The Netherlands on 04.02.2014
Species, family:
Nebriinae sp.
Carabidae
Comment: Hi Macroab, this is the larva of a rove beetle, but we can't determine it, not even to genus level. Regards, Christoph Hi Macroab and Christoph, in this case a late correction is due: this is the larva of a ground beetle, subfamily Nebriinae. Might be genus Nebria, but I can't say with certainty. Best regards, Moritz

Request: Atheta sp. Auf Totholz, ca. 3,5mm, 20.11.2016
Species, family:
Atheta cf. triangulum
Staphylinidae
