On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo, erst sah er hellbraum aus, in der Sonne funktelte dieser ca. 8 mm lange Käfer dann metallisch rot. Funddatum 06.04.2017, auf frischem Haselnussblatt. Ich tippe auf Curculionidae, weiter trau ich mich nicht. Vielleicht Polydrusus mollis?

Comment: Hallo Emmemm, das ist Phyllobius pyri. Bei Polydrusus ist die Fühlereinlenkung furchenförmig und liegt an der Seite des Rüssels. So unterscheidet man sie von Phyllobius, dort ist sie rund und liegt auf der Oberseite des Rüssels. Danke für die Meldung. LG, Christoph

Comment: Hallo Neatus, bestätigt als Notoxus monoceros. Die arme plattgefahrene Meloe ist die seltene Meloe scabriusculus. Neben canthariphilen Gnitzen findet man auch diverse Käferarten an Meloe, welche die durch Cantharidin giftige Hämolymphe des Ölkäfers saugen und dadurch ihre Eier und sich selbst vor Fressfeinden schützen.
