On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: am 13.6.17 fand ich diesen Malachius (ca. 7mm) auf einer Bachwiese bei Stuttgart und er hielt sogar mal etwas still. Liege ich hier richtig mit M. aeneus?

Comment: Hallo Carabus, ja, wir haben hier ein Weibchen von Malachius aeneus vor uns. Zweites Fühlerglied nur wenig kürzer als das erste, Kopf, Hsch. und Fld. lang, abstehend, dunkel beborstet, grüne Basalfärbung der Fld. umgreift die Schultern. Farblich ähnlich sind M. rubidus und M. scutellaris. LG, Christoph
