The flat bark beetles (Cucu­jidae) are a small family with only 40 species in four genera worldwide, thereof four species in Germany. The family is represented on all continents except Africa. The small to medium-sized beetles are characterized by their flat body, perfectly adapted to their living under bark. Both adults and larvae are presumably predaceous on other arthropods.
