Peltidae (shield beetles)

The shield beetles (Peltidae) are small to medium-sized beetles, which are found under bark of conifers, occasionally of deciduous trees in the presence of fungi. They are also found in decaying wood, however rarely and feed on fungi and decaying wood detritus. They live in the low mountain range. In Germany four species have been recorded.
