On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Central to Southeast Europe (France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, Belarus, South Sweden). Rare Urwald relic species, in Germany with some modest expansion during the past years - still regarded as critically endangered (RL 1). Comment: Hallo Heike, man sieht leider nicht besonders viel, ich vermute einen Brotkäfer Stegobium paniceum. Der Brotkäfer kann sich nicht nur an Backwaren, sondern auch an Gewürzen und allem möglichen anderen getrockneten Lebensmitteln entwickeln. Die befallenen Lebensmittel identifizieren und entsorgen. Beißen oder stechen tut er aber nicht. LG, Christoph

Comment: Hallo geotrupes, das ist wahrscheinlich Grammoptera abdominalis, aber sicher machen kann ich es nur mit einer Aufnahme, auf der man das Abdomen sieht. LG, Christoph - PS: Nicht umsonst kann man pro Anfrage 3 Fotos einreichen. Das sollte man - wann immer möglich - nutzen, da man die bestimmungsrelevanten Merkmale oft nicht aus einer einzigen Perspektive sieht. Diesbezüglich haben wir in jüngster Zeit ein wenig Verbesserungspotential.

Wahrscheinlich ist wieder nur der braune Schnellkäfer zu bestimmen. Sollte auch der andere zu bestimmen sein, reiche ich ihn noch einmal ein. Ansonsten ist es ein schönes Beispiel vom friedlichen Zusammenleben verschiedener Arten!
