On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

diesen ca. 2 mm großen Rüssler habe ich im Aostatal auf einer Lichtnelke (Silene dioica) gefunden. Kann es Curculio salicivorus sein?

Comment: Hallo Coleomaniac, puh, ich glaube, hier geht es nur bis Cionus sp. Es könnte auch ein abgeschabter C. hortulanus sein, diese grau-weiß-gefleckten Cionus-Arten sind selbst an megascharfen Fotos schwer bis unmöglich. An Nachtkerze lebt allerdings keine der Arten, die meisten finden sich auf bestimmten oder verschiedenen Arten von Königskerze. Sorry :(. Viele Grüße, Corinna

Comment: Hallo Birgit, das ist Clanoptilus elegans. Der zeichnet sich durch die zitronengelben "Elemente" aus, die beim Malachius bipustulatus meist rot oder wenigstens orange sind. Die Panikzipfel allerdings, die diese Familie bei Gefahr ausstülpen kann, sind bei beiden Arten rot. Die sieht man hier nur nicht, weil Dein Käfer ganz cool bleibt :). In unserem Galeriebild von C. elegans sind sie aber seitlich der Flügeldecken auszumachen. Danke für die Meldung. Viele Grüße, Corinna

Comment: Hallo Chris, bestätigt als Cryptocephalus moraei, die sind unverkennbar. Hübsche Tierchen :). Auf Deinen Fotos sieht man sehr schön die typischen Unterschiede der Geschlechter bei dieser Art: Das Männchen hat einen hellen Halsschildvorderrand, ist blassgelb gezeichnet und kleiner als das mit leuchtend orangen Flecken versehene und größere Weibchen.
