On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Habitat: 70m NN, Mischwald, Abwassergräben zur Entwässerung von Wiesen und Wald sowie Flüsschen.

Comment: Hallo Salenia, es könnte Oulema melanopus sein. Oder O. duftschmidi. Die beiden Arten kann man nicht am Foto trennen, das geht nur mittels Untersuchung des Genitals :(. Daher bleibt dieser hübsche Käfer, wie immer, leider unbestimmt. Viele Grüße, Corinna

Request: Hallo Käferfreunde, 12.07.2018 - Cteniopus flavus auf Wilder Möhre. Entsprechend einer kürzlichen Anfrage hier hab ich heute sämtliche Schwefelkäfer genauer inspiziert, aber keinen mit schwarzem Kopf finden können. Dafür den Hübschen hier mit den beiden Punkten auf den Flügeldecken und den schwarzen Fühlern. Kann das sein, dass man Cteniopus flavus bevorzugt in Gewässernähe findet? Viele Grüße!

It can be identified by the long and almost straight snout and a double-pointed tooth on the underside of the fore femora (the tip of the tooth is just about visible in image B).
