On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Hallo Christine, hier geht es leider nur bis zur Gattung Cionus, und zwar wegen der Fundpflanze. Auf Königskerze sitzen nämlich auch noch die extrem ähnlichen Arten C. thapsus, C. nigritarsis und C. ganglbaueri. Einzig der hortulanus geht auch zusätzlich an Braunwurz, so dass ein Fund darauf die Art immerhin sehr wahrscheinlich macht. Aber auf Verbascum leider keine Chance :(. Viele Grüße, Corinna.

Request: 18.07.2018 Reicht die Halsschild-Hinterwinkelspitzkeit für Tenebrio opacus? Oder ist der Käfer einer der beiden anderen Arten (T. Molitor bzw. T. obscurus)? Den Käfer hab ich heute früh in meinem Bad aufgefunden. Wollte schon - schlaftrunken und ohne Brille - mit dem Pantoffel draufschlagen, weil ich das Tierchen für eine Küchenschabe hielt. Bis zum Fototermin am Abend, musste der Käfer noch in einer Pappschachtel ausharren. Le Mouret, 750 m, Schweiz. Viele Grüße

Comment: Hallo Jaro, Herzlich Willkommen bei Kerbtier! Da hast Du gleich einen netten Fund eingereicht, das ist ein Männchen von Prionus coriarius, dem Sägebock. Die Art bewohnt alte Laubbäume und ist nachtaktiv. Dann fliegen die Käfer gerne ans Licht. Ein schönes Tier, die werden bis 4,5cm lang. Viele Grüße, Corinna
