On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Garten in Johannisberg, ca. 175 m NN, 24.4.2014.
Species, family:
Anthocomus bipunctatus
Malachiidae
Comment: Hallo Appius, doch doch, korrekt erkannt als Anthocomus bipunctatus. Mycelfresser an verpilzten Ästen. In Mitteleuropa, häufig.

Species, family:
Harpalus dimidiatus
Carabidae
LG, Christoph

Request: Garten in Johannisberg, ca. 175 m NN, 24.4.2014, Größe 10 mm.
Species, family:
Anthaxia candens
Buprestidae
LG, Christoph

Request: beim spazieren gehen an der Uchte in Stendal
Species, family:
Phyllobius pyri/vespertinus
Curculionidae
LG, Christoph

Request: Cassida bergeali/vibex ?
How can you see the difference between these 2 species?
Photo : Hasselt, Belgium 23-04-2014
Built-up area
Species, family:
Cassida vibex/bergeali
Chrysomelidae
Comment: Hi verstraeten, there are only two differences: The host plant (C. vibex on Carduus and Cirsium, C. bergeali on Centaurea). And the aedoeagus of the male, which should be inspected always. By photo they can't be distinguished. Regards, Christoph

Request: Hallo,
LG, Christoph

Comment: Hi valterj, a wonderful photo of a wonderful pair of weevils. I'm afraid we can't identify that species and I guess it is something of the mediterranean fauna. But in my mind it is subfamily Mecininae and in here the tribus Mecinini, maybe genus Mecinus. Best regards, Klaas

Request: Hallo Bestimmungsteam, ich vermute, das
bei diesem Zeugophora, mit diesen
Bildern, keine Artbestimmung möglich
sein wird? Der war sehr wuselig, es war
windig und der schnell weg. Ich würde
Zeugophora subspinosa als ev. passend sehen? 21.04.2014, am niedrigen
Wildwuchs von einem Teich bei Wulkow, Prignitz, BB. Größe um 3 mm. Lieben
Dank und viele Grüße Heidi
Species, family:
Zeugophora scutellaris
Chrysomelidae

Host Plant: Galactites tomentosa
Species, family:
Larinus sp.
Curculionidae
Comment: Hi valterj, that's a member of genus Larinus. For identification it is always helpful to get to see the snout very well. But beside this the number of species is increasing in the south of Europe, so I doubt we would come further than to the genus. Sorry. Best regards, Klaas
