On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Can anyone please help with identifying this small beetle seen last night, in rather arid area, just above beach, in NW Sicily, near San Vito Lo Capo.
Roughly 7mm. Two individuals seen separately but both very close to ant nests 25.08.2018 . Both attempted to burrow away.
Any help much appreciated.

Request: Den hab ich dieses Jahr noch gar nicht gemeldet: Trypocopris vernalis, Länge um 15mm, gefunden in der Wahner Heide, 131m üNN, am 28.08.2018. Im Sonnenschein waren diese niedlichen Brummer zahlreich unterwegs und sehr flugfreudig.

Request: Ein Harpalus sp. für Euch. Länge etwa 11mm, gefunden auf einem Sandweg in der Wahner Heide, 109m üNN, am 28.08.2018. Richtig putzen konnte ich ihn leider nicht vor Ort ;), obwohl er zwar nervös und schnell war, aber auch zwischendrin ganz stillhielt. Ich hoffe, man kann trotzdem genug wichtige Details erkennen. Er war völlig schwarz, ohne jeden Metall- oder Farbschimmer und wirkte recht schlank. Meine beste Vermutung wäre Harpalus rubripes. Was meint Ihr dazu? Vielen lieben Dank!
