On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Pro Monat sammeln sich 20-50 tote Exemplare in den Ecken der Wohnung. Auch lebende werden regelmässig gesichtet. Sie können fliegen und sind +- 4mm gross. Verdacht auf Ptilinus pectinicornis...? Datum 17.09.2018

Comment: Hallo Nagekäfer, das ist kein Nagekäfer, sondern ein Vertreter der Gattung Ptilodactyla. Die Familie Ptilodactylidae ist bei uns nicht heimisch, wir hatten allerdings schon einmal eine Anfrage eines solchen Käfers, siehe hier. In Gewächshäusern kommen diese Käfer des Öfteren vor, sie werden mit tropischen Pflanzen oder Holz verschleppt. Schädlich sind sie nicht und in unseren Lagen können sie sich im Freiland wohl auch nicht etablieren. Viele Grüße, Moritz

Will man sowas vermeiden schreibt man am besten "zusammen mit H. variegata" in den Anfragetext, dann taucht der Bestimmungsvorschlag bei uns intern gar nicht auf. LG, Fabian
