On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Rhodaphodius foetens (Aphodius foetens). An Pferdedung. Ich will ehrlich sein, ich habe den kleinen Käfer auf den Rücken gelegt, um seinen Hinterleib fotografieren zu können. Hoffentlich konnte der kleine Freund mir dieses rüpelhafte Benehmen verzeihen. Ca. 6,9mm, 15.08.2018

Comment: Hallo anna, hier hast du einen Leiodes fotografiert. Die Gattung ist sehr artenreich und sehr schwierig in der Bestimmung, in diesem Fall muss es wohl auch bei der Gattung bleiben. Die Käfer leben unterirdisch an Pilzen, so dass man sie vor allem findet, wenn sie schwärmen. Viele Grüße, Moritz

Comment: Hallo Ölkäfer, das ist Meloe decorus. Die sind immer sehr früh im Jahr dran, wobei Mitte Februar wirklich SEHR zeitig ist. Ein ausgezeichneter Fund! Kaspisches Faunenelement, von Ostfrankreich über Deutschland und Norditalien bis Südrussland und Balkanhalbinsel. In Deutschland aktuell nur aus BA, HS, PF, TH und ST gemeldet, vom Aussterben bedroht, RL 1. LG, Christoph

Comment: Hallo Wolfgang, die unterseitig hellere Färbung des ersten Fühlerglieds erkennt man am dritten Bild zweifelsfrei und die ist mir nur von Philonthus cognatus bekannt. Ich fühle mich aber nicht ganz wohl, da die Gestalt des Kopfes nicht nach cognatus aussieht. Ich kenne die Art nur mit schmalerem und runderem Kopf. Vorerst trage ich den mal als Philonthus sp. ein, aber vielleicht kommen wir hier später noch weiter. Sorry und viele Grüße, Moritz Mit den Bildern aus #118277 mach ich hier intermedius draus. Ich war zunächst verwirrt, weil es niemals derselbe Käfer wie in #118213 ist, aber du hast offenbar die Nummern vertauscht, gemeint ist #118212.
