View answered requests for beetle ID
|
On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: I saw it in my house then I caught it inside a glass and free it at my balcony it flew away. approx. 2 cm long 17.02.2019
Species, family:
Gymnetis chalcipes
Scarabaeidae
Comment: Hi Macaius, welcome to Kerbtier.de! This one should be a member of the Gymnetis genus within the scarab family. To my mind, G. chalcipes looks likely but as I'm not familiar with beetle faunas outside Central Europe I can't be sure. Maybe one of my co-admins has a sharper eye ;). Best wishes, Corinna I agree with Corinna. Best regards, Christoph

LG Chris
Species, family:
Thanasimus formicarius
Cleridae
