On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hoffentlich bin ich hier überhaupt richtig bei den Käfern, aber diese aquatische Karve könnte vielleicht Richtung Scirtidae gehen. 26.02.2019. 3 mm. In einem voller Falllaub liegenden Kleintümpel im Laubwald.

Comment: Hi Verstraeten, I don't think it is A. emarginatum. But even if it would be a species around A. emarginatum we would be not able to separate of the absolutely similar species of Agonum duftschmidi. No chance without dissection. At least the black Agonum are usually impossible to identify on a photo. Best regards, Klaas

Ich habe bei einem externen Kollegin um Hilfe angefragt, der mich wiederum an einen externen Experten verwiesen hat. Wenn ich von dort eine Rückmeldung bekomme, trage ich sie hier nach. LG, Christoph Hier kommt die Lösung dank externer Expertise von K.-W. Anton. Er schreibt: "(...) ein Bruchidius aus der varius-Gruppe, B. picipes (Germar). Diese Art erkennt man in der Regel an ihren Elytren, die ein einheitliches und vorherrschendes Braun mit deutlich abgesetzten weißen Flecken haben, in Verbindung mit rotgelben Hinterbeinen, deren Knie dezent geschwärzt und Tarsen komplett schwarz sind. B. picipes entwickelt sich in diversen Trifolium-Arten und ist vom östlichen Österreich bekannt."
