On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Agonum emarginatum ?
Found in a dead poplar.
Location : Maaswinkel, Belgium
Date : 26-02-2019
Beetle : Approx 7-8mm
Best regards
Species, family:
Agonum sp.
Carabidae
Comment: Hi Verstraeten, I don't think it is A. emarginatum. But even if it would be a species around A. emarginatum we would be not able to separate of the absolutely similar species of Agonum duftschmidi. No chance without dissection. At least the black Agonum are usually impossible to identify on a photo. Best regards, Klaas

Also: bestimmt Atheta sp.? Auf einem Pilz im Kiefernwald. Ca. 2,6mm (wegen gekrümmten Hinterleibs nicht so gut messbar, tatsächlich wohl etwas größer), 14.09.2018
Species, family:
Aleocharinae sp.
