On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 7.5.14, knapp 3.5 mm. Was meint Ihr? Vielen Dank und LG
Species, family:
Anobium sp.
Anobiidae
LG, Christoph

Request: I know it's not a good picture, but I hope this Phyllobius can still be determined.
Last week (02.05.2014) I found it in the 'Kalmthoutse Heide' (heathland) in northern Antwerp on a birch.
Regards, Joachim.
Species, family:
Polydrusus cervinus
Curculionidae
Comment: Hi Joachim, this should be the weevil Polydrusus cervinus. On oak and birch. The only similar species is Polydrusus pilosus, but the latter prefers the montane zone. Regards, Christoph

Request: I found this Phyllobius in a tree (birch) somewhere in the Port of Antwerp last week (04.05.2014).
Could it be Phyllobius pyri?
Regards, Joachim.
Species, family:
Phyllobius pyri/vespertinus
Curculionidae
Comment: Hello Joachim, this could definitely be Phyllobius pyri, but it could also be Phyllobius verspertinus, which is a very similar species, and hard to distinguish on your Photo. Regards, Michael

Request: Hallo!
