On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

ach so einen coolen hab' ich mir schon lange gewünscht. Aber alles schwemmen und klopfen am Ufer hatte bisher keinen Erfolg. Heute buddelt meine Tochter am Gimbsheimer Baggersee im Sand und ruft plötzlich: Mama, da kam ein runder Käfer aus dem Sand. Ich: Fang ihn, schnell! Sie hat einfach Sand drauf geworfen und da hatten wir ihn. Kurioserweise schreckt unser Beagle kurze Zeir später einen zweiten an fast der gleichen Stelle beim Graben auf. Sie waren nicht direkt an der Wasserkante, sondern etwas oberhalb im Sand vergraben. Omophron limbatum (5mm). 31.03.19 Danke schön

Hallo Kerbtier-Team,
D. taeniatus sieht für mich richtig aus; 5mm lang inkl. Rüssel. Ebenfalls mit Weidenkätzchen eingetragen, 22.03.2019. Beim letzten Mal #118397 hat es nur bis zur Gattung Dorytomus gereicht --- geht diesmal mehr?

Comment: Hallo CorvusNiger, hier geht es für mich leider nur bis zur Gattung Ocypus. Ich glaube der blaue Schein trügt hier. Die Fld. wirken auch recht kurz und der Halsschild hat eine Mittellinie fast auf der ganzen Länge, das spricht alles gegen ophthalmicus. LG, Christoph
