On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 25.05.2014, Forstweg, Mischwald, an Brombeere (beihnahe Waldrand), ca. 15mm.
LG, Christoph

Viele Grüße

Comment: Hi Leon, have a look at the antennae, they don't fit for Coccinellidae. It is a representative of the marsh beetles, genus Cyphon. I don't dare to give a determination to species level here. Regards, Christoph

Comment: Hi Karol, I would confirm genus Otiorhynchus, but I have my doubts about O. ligustici. The Otiorhynchus species are in most cases not easily determined, even less so from a "foreign" fauna. I have to leave it with Otiorjynchus sp. Regards, Christoph
