On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo! Solche Dictyopterus aurora (scharlachroter Netzkäfer) sah ich heute (4.6.2014) mehrere auf einem Hollunderstrauch in Saalfelden (Ö / Bayr.-Österr. Grenzraum) auf etwa 850mNN. Ich hoffe, ich hab ihn richtig bestimmt! Danke und l.G. Guntram

Comment: Hallo Guntram, *seufz*, da red ich mir hier den Mund fusslig, wie man die Halsschildskulptur der Lyciden zu ihrer Bestimmung nutzt. Und dann sowas! Lopherus rubens ist's mit vier von Kielen begrenzten Feldern und ohne Diskoidalareole. Bei der nächten Lyciden-Anfrage will ich das richtig umgesetzt sehen, sonst trete ich in Streik ;-) LG, Christoph

Request: Hallo! Nachdem ich gestern einen "Schwarzen" mit roten Flecken meldete und mir dann freundlicherweise der Link zu Adalia bipunctata gegeben wurde, erinnerte ich mich, dass ich im selben Habitat auch einen "Roten" mit 2 Punkten sah. So pilgerte ich heute wieder hin und fand ihn tatsächlich! 04.06.2014 / Ö / Saalfelden / Bayr.-Österr. Grenzraum auf etwa 850mNN._Leider verweigerte er die Ansicht von oben und "versteckt" so seinen zweiten schwarzen Punkt.

Request: Liebe Käfer-Spezialisten! Diesen Winzling (etwa 2,5-3mm) fand ich heute, 4.6.2014 in Saalfelden (Ö / Bayr.-Österr. Grenzraum) auf einer total verllausten Hollunderstaude, auf welcher sich viele, unterschiedliche Marienkäfer tummelten. Ist das auch einer? Ist er für euch bestimmbar.

Comment: Hallo Guntram, da kommt man nicht so leicht drauf wenn man ihn nicht kennt: Das ist Tritoma bipustulata, eine Erotylidae. In Österreich gibt's noch die Schwesterart Tritoma subbasalis, bei der die rote Fld.-Makel von der Fld.-Basis abgerückt und die Schulter schwarz ist. Europa, Kaukasus bis Sibirien. Mycetobiont. Request: Ca. 12 mm, am 04.06.2014 bei 22°C auf Pappel- und Erlenblättern am Rande eines Flachmoors, ein Weichkäfer? Foto leider unscharf, aber vielleicht ist ja zumindest die Familienzugehörigkeit feststellbar, damit ich mit der groben Einordnung besser werde?

Request: Hallo! Heute war ich "fleißig"! Cantharis fusca, wie ich meine. Ein Prachtstück; sicherlich 15mm lang. Als Beute hat er (sie) eine Laus vom Hollunderstrauch._Der dunkle Fleck am Halsschild ist zwar weit nach vorne gerutscht, aber doch vorhanden. Foto vom 4.6.2014, Saalfelden (Ö/ Bayr.-Österr. Comment: Hallo Guntram, ja, das ist Cantharis fusca mit einem ausgedehnten Halsschildfleck. Würde der schwarze Halsschildfleck isoliert in der Mitte stehen und allseitig rot umrandet sein, wäre es die ebenfalls sehr häufige Cantharis rustica. Beachte auch die schwarzen Schenkel und vergleich das mit C. rustica. Europa von Nordspanien bis Südrußland. LG, Christoph

Comment: Hallo wusaweku, den müsste man von unten sehen, um ihn genau bestimmen zu können (Wölbung der Sternite). Es handelt sich aber um einen der beiden größten Wasserkäfer, die unsere Fauna zu bieten hat, nämlich entweder Hydrophilus piceus (Großer Kolbenwasserkäfer - bis 50 mm) oder Hydrophilus aterrimus (Kolbenwasserkäfer - bis 40 mm). Comment: Hallo Bug, das "Böckchen" ist ein Schnellkäfer ;-)
genauer gesagt Denticollis linearis. Im Frühjahr recht häufig in Wäldern und an Waldrändern. Europa ohne den Mittelmeerraum bis Westasien, planar bis subalpin. Ziemlich farbvariabel. lg gernot
