On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Loozen The Netherlands on 03.12.2013
Species, family:
Omaliinae sp.
Staphylinidae
Comment: Hi macroab, this should be a representative of subfamily Omaliinae of the rove beetles, but from this lateral view I struggle even to get to a genus. Probably Olophrum, but that is more guessing than a proper determination. Regards, Christoph

Comment: Dear Thomas, although the black Scraptiidae are usually very difficult to determine, this one should be an exception. I think it's the ubuiquitous Anaspis frontalis. Best regards, Christoph

Request: Hardenberg The Netherlands on 2.11.2011
Species, family:
Ceutorhynchus cf. erysimi
Curculionidae

Request: Hardenberg The Netherlands on 02.11.2011
Species, family:
Ceutorhynchus cf. erysimi
Curculionidae

2014-05-31
Request: Hi Kerbtier, would it be possible to identify this beetle from these photos?
Date: 31 May 2014
Place: Strabrechtse Heide, Netherlands
Habitat: Heath (heide)
Found on: rotting birch tree
Accompanied by: Bitoma crenata, Dacne bipustulata and Litargus connexus
Size: ± 3.3mm (mm-paper)
Kind regards, Robert
Species, family:
Cis cf. boleti
Cisidae
Comment: Hi RobertK, this is a representative of genus Cis. There are not too many Cis species, which are 3.3 mm large, most probably it might be Cis boleti. But there remains a high amount of uncertainty. Usually, Cis should be inspected by an expert for the group on a real specimen. Regards, Christoph

Request: Hallo!
Du musst Dich also an Christoph wenden. *rofl* Liebe Grüße, klaas

Request: Hallo,
gehört die Trutzburg-Larve zu Henosepilachna argus? Heute im südlichen Rheinhessen.
Gruß Gerd
Species, family:
Henosepilachna argus
Coccinellidae
