On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo liebes Käferteam
Am 20.06.2019 fand mein Nachbar diesen 40mm großen Lucanus cervus vor seiner Garage. Solche Funde, 2.5Km vom Wald entfernt, werden in unserem Wohngebiet oft gemeldet. Deshalb habe ich vor zwei Jahren einige Eichenstammabschnitte an einem abgelegenen schattigen Platz auf unserem Grundstück eingegraben. Zusätzlich bedeckte ich alles mit Borke und Sägespäne. Dieses Biotop wurde von dem weiblichen Käfer sofort angenommen. Nach weniger als einer Minute hatte es sich eigegraben.

P.S. Ich habe natürlich die Bewegungsfreiheit des Käfers nicht eingeschrängt. Wenn er will und die Kraft hat kann er auch zum Wald zurückfliegen.
