On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: ladybird found next to a wetland in Delta del Ebro, Spain. I has five dots. 26.06.2019. 4-5mm length aproximately.
Species, family:
cf. Coccinella undecimpunctata
Coccinellidae
Comment: Hi Irisco, and welcome to kerbtier.de! I think this might be a specimen of Coccinella undecimpunctata, but in that case somebody has nicked a few spots! The species usually has eleven, as the latin name indicates, but the remaining five seem to be in the right place at least and there are quite a few ladybird species which vary in the number of dots their individual representatives display. But besides that, I'm not entirely certain if it's one of the Hippodamia instead (also ladybirds), therefore I need to stick a "cf." in front. Best wishes, Corinna

LG Chris
