On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Moin. Diese Cassida stigmatica auf Rainfarn wirkten wie glatt poliert - offenbar frisch aus den abgebildeten Exuvien geschlüpft, von denen ca. 6 zu sehen waren. Zwei junge Larven fand ich auch, von denen eine von einer parasitoiden Wespe attackiert wurde und sich mit ihrer "Häutungsgabel" kräftig wehrte. - Alles im letzten Tageslicht, meine Kamera kämpfte hart. Comment: Hallo Wolfgang, hier schlage ich Perapion affine vor. Ein violaceum ist es nicht, dafür ist er viel zu fett. P. affine lebt an Großem Sauerampfer an feuchten Stellen, der sehr ähnliche P. marchicum an Kleinem Sauerampfer. Die beiden unterscheiden sich in der Skulptur der Kopfunterseite, die man hier nicht sehen kann, und trotz der Fundort-Info würde ich dieses Detail lieber zusätzlich beurteilen können. Leider muss ich es hier also bei cf. lassen. Viele Grüße, Corinna

Request: Ahoi Käfer-Team, heute sah ich meine ersten so großen Käferlarven, juhu! Eine Bekannte beobachtete beim Kompostumsetzen ca. 50 dieser Larven. Meine erste Idee ist der Nashornkäfer; stimmt es? Und wie lang werden sie final (ich möchte sie züchten)? Die hier sind ca. 2,5 cm in gekrümmter Haltung. Im Internet finde ich Angaben zwischen 30 mm und 100 mm! Wie misst man sie - aussstrecken kann man sie schließlich nicht? Comment: Hallo Vera, das könnte wohl die Larve von Cetonia aurata sein. Die Längenangabe ist wohl schon im "entrollten" Zustand. Im lebenden Zustand kannst Du 'nen dünnen Bindfaden drauflegen und so indirekt messen, ohne dass Du die Larve auf die Streckbank tun musst. LG, Christoph ;) Nach Durchzucht kann das cf. weg.
