On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 19.06.2019 in Chemnitz-Wittgensdorf an einer Hauswand gefunden. ca 4-5mm groß; Da ich nicht genau weiß, ob es sich um eine Larve oder ein ausgewachsenes Tier handelt, habe ich Imago erstmal stehen lassen. Hatte zuerst an ein Glühwürmchen gedacht.

Comment: Hallo Bravofoxtrot, das ist ein schöner Fund, nämlich der kleinste und seltenste Leuchtkäfer unserer Fauna, Phosphaenus hemipterus. Es handelt sich um ein ausgewachsenes Männchen (siehe die zugegeben kurzen Flügeldecken, Larven und Weibchen sind immer ungeflügelt). Danke für die Meldung. Viele Grüße, Daniel

Request: Tetrops starkii. Die Schenkel sind NICHT vollständig hell, wie sie bei T. starkii laut Schlüssel sein sollten, sondern die Hinterschenkel an der Basis schwarz. Ich bin trotzdem sicher, dass es starkii ist. Nach Vergleich mit Bildern von T. praeustus fällt die gröbere Flügeldeckenpunktur und die längere Behaarung auf. Die Färbung ist auch anders als bei allen T. praeustus, die ich mir im Anfrageforum angeschaut habe. Bei denen ist der Hinterschenkel, soweit erkennbar, immer (fast) ganz schwarz. Den vorne schwarzen Flügeldeckenseitenrand haben sie auch nicht. Auf Totholz. Ca. 5mm. 12.05.2019
