On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Hi Lilica, and welcome to kerbtier.de! This is most likely a member of the genus Attagenus, commonly called carpet beetles. They are pests in the house but it's their larvae that do the damage, not the adult beetles. The larvae feed on fabrics, carpets, fur, textiles, leather and animal matter (such as dead skin), so they're actually quite common even in clean surroundings. I'll mail you with some advice! Request: Sepedophilus marshami? Der Kontrast zwischen Halsschild- und Flügeldeckenfärbung ist nicht groß, aber mir fällt nichts anderes ein. Zu testaceus passen die Fühler nicht. Ca. 5,5mm (RL. ca. 2,5mm). 31.05.2019
