View answered requests for beetle ID
|
On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Aphodius sphacelatus ?
I found this scarab on the wall today.
It has a length of approx. 5mm
Location : Diepenbeek, Belgium
Date : 05-02-2020
Best regards
Species, family:
Aphodius cf. sphacelatus
Scarabaeidae
Comment: Hi verstraeten, I think I see some yellow at the base of the pronotum which would really make this one an Aphodius sphacelatus. However, I will cautiously put a cf. in. Maybe someone else dares to take it out. Best regards, Juergen
