On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

am 09.04.2020 fand ich diesen Kurzflügelkäfer an einer alten Buche. Im Hintergrund auf Foto B ist ein Bolitophagus reticulatus zu sehen, demnach war der Käfer etwas über 1cm lang.

Request: Hallo Käferteam, gefunden am 12.04.2020 auf einem Feldweg in Reichenthal/O.Ö. 650 m üNN. Größe ca. 20 mm. Staphylinus dimidiaticornis oder Staphylinus caesareus??? Einer wird es wohl sein. die Unterscheidung hab ich immer noch nicht geschnallt.... Leider hab ich nur dieses eine Foto, ich hoffe auf Eure Hilfe, vielen Dank und beste Grüße, Hermann.

Request: Liebe Käferfreunde,
den abgebildeten Käfer fand ich am 11. 4. 2020 an einer ca. 11 Wochen alten Rattenaasmumie. KL: ca. 25 mm.
Die Fotos zeigen: 1. Den Käfer an der Mumie, 2. die Bauchseite, nachdem er sich tot stellte, 3. den Habitus unmittelbar nach dem "Erwachen". Ich denke, es ist ein Schwarzer Totengräber Necrophorus humator.
