On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Liebes Team,
am 28.04.2020 fand ich diesen Curculio sp. auf einem sehr kleinen Haselstrauch. Der Käfer war etwa 7mm lang. Ist das Curculio nucum? Ich verstehe nicht ganz, was mit dem Antennenmerkmal gemeint ist zur Unterscheidung von C. glandium und C. nucum.. hm

Comment: Hallo Berliner Käfer, das ist Curculio glandium. Man schaut die drei Keulenglieder an und misst deren Länge und Breite (letztere an der breitesten Stelle). Wenn L:B > 2.5 = glandium, wenn < 2.5, dann nucum. Aber natürlich erst dann, wenn man finally an diesem Trennungsschritt angekommen ist. Danke für die Meldung. LG, Christoph
