Request: Guten Abend, liebes Team. Am Schwäbischen Meer hab ich dieses Laufkäferle gefunden: 23. September 2014 im Mettnaupark, 396m üNN, am Südufer mit Weiden, Sand und Kies (Foto C). Länge etwa 6 oder 7 mm. Ist das ein Badister? Weiter komme ich nicht, was meint Ihr dazu? Vielen Dank und liebe Grüße!

Comment: Moin Käferin mit Rüssel, das sollte, trotz der unglücklichen Perspektiven, Platynus livens sein. Viele grüße, Klaas Hallo Rüsselkäferin, der rote Kopf, lässt an Platynus livens denken, aber der Rest zeigt dann, dass es sich um Paranchus albipes, die weit häufigere Art in Gewässernähe handelt. Der Käfer kann auch nahezu komplett dunkelrot sein. Bei uns kommen die roten munter gemischt zusammen mit schwarzen Exemplaren vor. Gruß Holger

Comment: Moin Uta, meiner Meinung nach bist Du in der richtigen Familie und hier Gattung Hylastes. ABER: mit den Scolytidae und den recht ähnlichen Curculionidae der Gattung Rhyncolus stehe ich auf Kriegsfuß, weshalb hier unbedingt noch einer von den anderen drauf schauen muss. Comment: Hi Apple, hard to tell with this photo but I think this specimen belongs to the family Carabidae and it could be Anaulacus (Anaulacus) fasciatus (Schmidt-Goebel, 1846) which is known to be present in the Philippines and looks very very similar. Yet, as this is not our primary region of study, we cannot tell with absolute certainty. Best, Fabian
