On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 5.5.2020, Und schon wieder ein neuer Elaphrus, dieses mal Elaphrus riparius. Kommt die 3. Art (uliginosus) auch in solchen Habitaten vor? Da gibt es eine Meldung aus meinem MTB und jetzt will ich den Fundpunkt natürlich erneuern ;)

Request: Hallo Käferteam,
na, bestimmt werden muß Coccinella septempunctata wohl nicht mehr. Fund vom 7. Mai 2020. Aber weshalb ich Euch das Bild schicke, ist mein Interesse an den gelben Tröpfchen. Auf der anderen Körperseite waren ebenfalls zwei. Habt Ihr eine Erklärung dafür?

Comment: Moin Lichtbildner, bestätigt als Coccinella septempunctata. Danke für die Meldung. Die gelben Tröpfchen sind das abwehrsekret. Das können sich die Marienkäfer aus so ziemlich jeder Körperöffnung drücken, auch aus den Kniegelenken etc. Das tröpfchen ist das, was sie ungenießbar macht. Viele Grüße, Klaas

Request: 6.5.20, lief auf einem Weg, wurde von mir gerettet, ehe noch jemand drauf tritt. Flog dann aber schnell weg.Ist ca. 1 cm groß. Ist das Lilioceris lilii?

Comment: Hugh rote Squaw ;-), nein, Lilioceris lilii ist nicht so flach, deutlich hochrückiger, zylindrisch, deutlich dunkler rot, mit +/- weniger speckigem Glanz und nur etwa halb so groß. Den findest Du bei uns meist in Gärten auf Lilien. Im Bild Pyrochroa serraticornis (unterscheidet sich von der Schwesternart Pyrochroa coccinea durch den roten Kopf). Viele Grüße, Klaas

Comment: Moin Birgit, nein, der ähnliche "Kumpel" fusca ist es. Du kannst sie leicht unterscheiden. fusca = Beine komplett schwarz, der schwarze Fleck auf dem Halsschild berührt mindestens den Vorderrand, je nach Größe auch den Hinterrand. rustica = die Schenkel sind zum teil rot gefärbt, der Fleck auf dem Halsschild immer isoliert, meist herzförmig, zuweilen aber auch nur sehr klein und dann mehr oder weniger rund, berührt aber niemals Vorder- oder Hinterrand.
