On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Geht da etwas? umgestürzte Birke in sehr lichtem Eichen-Birkenwald mit reichlich Unterwuchs auf felsigem Grund. Kleiner Burgberg bei Bad Harzburg. Diese Birke hatte etliche solcher Lochreihen, bei anderen Birken fiel mir das nicht auf.

Das ist aber doch sehr wahrscheinlich das Werk von Scolytus ratzeburgi, da alle in einer Reihe liegen, mit einem Haken am Anfang. Es gibt aber noch andere Insekten, die runde Austrittslöcher und durchaus auch in Gruppen an Birken machen, z.B. der birkenglasflügler. Nur so schön reihig ist an sich nur Scolytus.
